I cant speak to the apps overall security. And I do find registering my phone number, and allowing access to my contacts to be more than a little off-putting... But it works, and I can use it with non-technical friends.
Will it stop the NSA, nah... Will people now know you have something you are trying to hide, sure... but we all get logged anyway, so I dont care.

What I do know, is that —at least for now —it stops local cops from abusing power (they should never have had in the first place).

And that pisses them off… and until that sort of unchecked abuse of our rights ends, we need Signal and the people behind it
