Really secure and perfect for keeping your conversations private. It have also encrypted calls, indispensable if you care of your privacy.

Downloaded, tried to login > not possible to receive the sms, and calls doesnt work too. No login, no party. Uninstalled, back to Telegram.

The OWS white paper lays out an awesome security model. This is a great app for secure international communication.

Whit the last update the app completely stop working, it only crashes on start

It crashes if I update a group chat. Then I have to delete and re-add it and cant be added to that chat again because it says Im already in there. Please fix. Second time happening.

I have used Signal for sometime. It is excellent. The only thing I would like to see is for Signal itself to offer the telephone number associated to the Signal app. That way Signal can control who has access to that number. Nowadays, it isnt that Americans are doing wrong; its just that we detest the government intruding into our normal affairs. After all, the current happenings are not originating from Americans.

Improve your personal security now by simply using this app. Would love to see touch ID added as an option to open the app each time.

Change the sound when you send a message. Make it unique. The current one sounds like a poor quality iMessage sound.

Again, the idea of the app is great. But when I try to make phone calls any conversation lasting more than 30 minutes gets dropped. Not cool. Also, if I send a text to someone and happen to not be in a service area it shows up as light blue (indicating that it hasnt gone through) but does not give me the option to resend or retract. (Retracting a message would also be a nice option, as well as delayed messages where I can choose a date and time in the future to send something.)

It works well, supports media messages, and is built from ground up to be secure, by an exceptional security-first company.

And other than that, i dont notice any improvements.

Still as of version 2.3.3 in June 2016 Signal app will not let you proceed past an initial request to grant it access to ALL of your contacts and to provide your phone number. Uh.... resounding NO. There is no functional reason why the app would need access to all of your contacts, or your phone number, both requirements to even use the app. The only logical conclusion is that they force users to give their phone numbers and contacts for some reason other than for the app to function as a messaging platform. Who knows what those reasons are, but we can rest assured that theyre not good reasons. Until they make this optional then I will stick to other secure messaging apps. That being said, I hope they see the stupidity of this approach when trying to woo people concerned about privacy, and eventually do the right thing. If/when that day comes, Ill give it a try.

The requirement to allow Signal access to all your contacts is a deal breaker. Unfortunately since WhatsApp is owned by Facebook, that just leaves Threema.

As I said before in my review, There is no sound when signal is open. This bad because when Signal is open and we have dont attention to the phone, If someone send a message, There is not any sound to know that. Please add sound when signal is open or add the option for this.

Nice, simple, secure BUT there are still features to consider. 1. ID is better than showing your phone number 2. How do you know if the other one is online 3. Groups And so on
