The Best Messenger on the Market for the Privacy Concious

This is THE app to have. Encourage your friends and family to download it too. To the clueless person who thinks that they have read receipts: no... not in the slightest. The app only will confirm if a message has been delivered. Every other messaging platform does this, including SMS.

Need more apps like this

Its great so far. Dedicated iPad version is needing scaling, but it is primarily a phone app. Hope their company thrives.

Works as advertised

My brother insisted our family get this for communication. I have to say I have no issues with it.

Used too much mobile data

Currently have the mobile data turned off as it was eating through my data plan. Even checking a previous message (with no new pics or anything) used 5mb of precious data plan. If you can fix the data leakage I will give it 5 stars - if not it will probably be uninstalled. Shame as I like everything else about the app - especially when there is a desktop companion too.

Simply awesome the best encrypted messaging app

Businesses and government should take notice of this app. It is by far the best on the planet when securing sensitive information for businesses, government, and individuals. Encourage your business associates to use this messaging app.

Does the job.

Havent had any issues with it yet.

Great app, always improvements

Easy to use and open source.

Good app!

It works very well! I have a good experience so far.

Thanks for this app!

Easy to use, very fast, cool interface. "Secured. Active"

5mb data

Downloaded this app and never used it. Noticed today it had used 5mb if cellular data. For what!? Ive literally never even logged in or verified my phone number.

Great app but needs more features

Great app for security but it would be nice to have like a pass code lock so others using my phone cannot view my conversations with people.

Important & functional

Important to have secure, peer reviewed chat software. Unlike snapchat, telegram and the many others that are sell outs with their backdoor to spying government and others. (Police, etc) we the people demand more security and privacy! Developed by us for us! Watch #citizen4 (Edward Snowden story) dont just be informed - be well informed!

Burns through cellular data fast

Just opening an existing conversation (not sending or receiving any messages) uses 2mb+ of cellular data. I would rely on the app more if it didnt burn through my data so fast.

Highly recommended

Clean UI, easy to use, reliable, and very secure. The only thing missing at the moment is a desktop client and apparently thats soon on its way.

Simplest to use

Great app, simple to use. Two things missing: Please let us choose the ring tone for messages, we can hardly hear the default one! Read receipts would also be a plus.

Insists on Access to Contacts

I loaded this app to reply to messages from ONE person who wants to use it. Instead of allowing me to read his messages, it insists on accessing my contacts. Since I use my phone for business I am not authorized to share many of my contacts. Signal says it needs this because it doesnt store contacts. However I receive each message, I just cant read more than a line and I cant respond. Signal would be better if it would let me add the contacts I want to use with it. I will be uninstalling them.

Fantastic messenger

Super confidential, all functions youd expect from a commercial messenger app, super fast and... FREE!

Love it

Works like a charm for what I need. Great free app.

Crash

It crashed when I placed a call on the first attempt! I tried again it was fine. After the call finished, my screen dimmed and there was no response!

Simple enough even for me

I love the App because it was easy to install and to use. Now my paranoid kids let me text them again!
